Established 2023 | Growing Ever Since

The Black Rose Society began as a passionate group of adventurers at The Ohio Renaissance Festival. Since our founding, we’ve blossomed into a thriving, multi-state community with chapters in Ohio, Kentucky, and Florida, and even more expansion on the horizon as we enter our third season in 2025.

At our core, The Black Rose Society is dedicated to creating an inclusive, welcoming space where individuals from all walks of life can forge lasting friendships—at the faire and beyond. We host immersive events throughout the year, blending the magic of Renaissance history with modern-day fellowship, humor, and heart.

What sets us apart is our one-of-a-kind leveling system, inspired by the strategy and storytelling of games like Dungeons & Dragons. Whether you’re hunting for riddles, decoding ciphers, or completing real-world challenges, every day at the festival becomes a quest of your own making.

In 2024, we proudly launched our first Guild Wars—a massive, multi-guild competition that brought together creative minds and daring hearts for a day of epic fun, strategy, and teamwork. Now an annual tradition, Guild Wars continues to grow in size and spirit, with our commemorative plaque on proud display at The Ohio Renaissance Festival.
